Continuing with A.C. Grayling’s The History of Philosophy, we will consider the strand of “Continental philosophy”. Continental philosophy loosely describes a wide variety of ideas associated with Western Philosophy coming out of Western European countries in the early 20th Century. As we will discover, continental philosophy spans a range of ideas from German Idealism to critical theory. Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, Sartre, and Derrida are just a few of the philosophers we will discuss.
